The fish was beautifully fresh, with light, crispy batter.Customer review
Proper fish & chips, across the road from Peasholm Park.
Family-run traditional chippy on Columbus Ravine, open evenings and cooked fresh to order — haddock in knobbly batter, chunky chips and a pot of mushy peas. Rated 4.7 by more than a thousand TripAdvisor reviewers.

A look inside
This is where your own photos go — the batter, the board above the counter, the walk back over the road to the park.
A family-run chippy, the traditional way
North Bay Fisheries sits at 179 Columbus Ravine, across the road from Peasholm Park on Scarborough's North Bay side. It's a proper traditional takeaway: you order from the board above the counter, pay at the till, and your fish goes in the fryer there and then. Nothing sits under a lamp.
It's only open for a few hours each evening, so the queue is part of the ritual — and more than a thousand TripAdvisor reviewers reckon it's worth it. Plenty of them walk straight back over the road to eat theirs on a bench in the park.
